The 3 parts to your Fitness Program

Posted on February 7th, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

Your fitness program will have 3 parts to it , for you to see the results.
1. The Aerobic program- this applies to lasting the 4 hours on the golf course. The aim is to play a whole round of golf and still have enough reserve to do other things after the game. Understand this is not an overnight phenomenon, where you press this magic button and the whole cake is yours, you have to take responsibility and do all the small steps required. This needs to be approached sensibly and consistently.
2. The Strength program- I will go with what best works for you. The new group of Golfers, understand the need for the strength program. For the old school, it is a hard sell and to make matters worse, gym jocks are not to helpful, when newbies enter the gym. So if you want to go and do your own thing at home, hey not for me to say that it’s wrong or less likely to succeed .Mail me if this is the road you want to take
3.  The Stretching and Relaxation program- In the next fitness article I will go into detail into the stretching and relaxation, for you to use at home.

Aerobics and Stretching

In the first blog, we had asked that you get a medical check with your Doctor, before you start any form of exercise. You have hit the pavement for your aerobic conditioning, following the 1 lamp post fast pace, 1 lamp post slow pace.

At the end of this , you will feel, a tightness in your calf muscle. A slow stretch, of the calf muscle ( with your palms against the wall or tree), move your right leg back, with your heel firmly planted, lean in towards the wall or tree and hold for 8-12 seconds. Do the same with the left foot, move it back and plant your heels firmly and then lean in towards the wall. Hold for 8-12 seconds and then relax and repeat on the other foot.

Be happy with small victories. One step at a time

Golf Fitness Program

Welcome to Golfaux Fitness Program

What we will do here is draw up a general fitness program, starting with OFF SEASON, PRESEASON and INSEASON

Why do we have to break it up like this???? The question that was asked was can you eat an elephant?? the answer is yes, one bite at a time. The same with Fitness, one day at a time.

If you have not done any exercise, it is highly recommended that you see your Dr. and get a health check up. Please do the above if your 45 years plus. This check up is also to find out if you have a high blood pressure.

So go get a health check, to see if your blood pressure can handle a round of golf.

Starting your Aerobic Program

Just get out on the street and walk, 1 lamp post fast , the next lamp post slow, for 20 minutes

when you get back home get to do some calf stretch and some sit ups, remember eating elephant one bite at a time the sit ups the same, 5 sit up do something else then come back and do another 5

Alternate 1 day practice range the next day walk

keep a look out you just might pass another golfaux
